I have been a successful Suburban Realtor for many years
I’ve lived in and loved the northern suburbs of Chicago since 1973 when our family bought a house in a wonderful neighborhood and turned it into a home. I became part of the community where I raised my family, became a den mother, chauffeur for my children’s activities, art lady in the grammar school, cookie baker, hostess, opera in the classroom volunteer, watercolor painter, supernumerary at Lyric Opera, and a successful realtor. I have lots of bragging rights for my Realtor awards, but my greatest reward has been the friendship and connections I have made in the process of helping my clients establish a home and a better way of life.
As a child, I wanted to be a teacher and when I grew up, that is just what I did. As a teacher, the most valuable lessons I ever learned were to think less of my own personal success and to focus more on the growth and well-being of my students. I learned to communicate and hear what was never said aloud.
I left teaching to raise my children and when they were older, and I was ready to go back to work, I became a Realtor. What a great fit that was! Now I am still a teacher, but I teach buyers and sellers to succeed in the ever-changing real estate market. I judge my success by the satisfaction of my clients.
Combining knowledge and technology with care and concern
My years of experience and extensive local knowledge allow me to use data wisely. I share a part of my client’s life that is sometimes stressful, but I stay calm and help navigate that journey. When things go wrong, I am there to help find solutions, and when things go well, I am their cheerleader. I treasure the stacks of thank-you letters I have received and appreciate that most of my business comes from their referrals to family and friends. I love Opera so I say…

More about Barbara
I work very hard and love what I do, but I also play hard. Read on, I will tell you more about me that you may find fun or surprising, such as my being chased by a grizzly bear, or catching gigantic fish, or being on the Oprah show. I have some wild but true stories that I will share if you are interested.
